A Reading MA Hair Salon: Crafting Custom Unique Journeys
The Journey of a Seasoned Stylist to THM a Reading MA Hair Salon
The Story Behind The Hair Mansion
Welcome to The Hair Mansion, a Reading MA salon rooted in creativity, connection, and decades of hands-on experience. I’m Jess—stylist, educator, and founder—and I’ve spent over 30 years behind the chair building a career on one belief: your hair should feel like you.
This path didn’t start with scissors in hand. It began with fabric, shape, and story—studying Fashion Merchandising at Middlesex Community College in the early ’90s. That foundation in design evolved into a passion for hair, and I’ve never looked back.
From the legendary Vidal Sassoon in Boston to Mario Russo at the Louis Building, to the artistry and education at Bumble and Bumble, each chapter of my career shaped how I see hair: as design, as movement, as personal expression. It’s not about trends—it’s about intention. And it always starts with a thoughtful conversation.
At The Hair Mansion, every appointment begins with that deep dive: your lifestyle, your hair history, your comfort zone, and what you’re ready to explore. My goal is to craft a look that feels as natural as it does striking—one that lasts, evolves, and fits you even on your busiest days.
Where Technique Meets Intuition
I’ve worked in top salons across Massachusetts and trained stylists across the country as a certified educator for Brocato, Davines, J Beverly Hills, Evolve Salon Systems, and Bumble and Bumble. But the magic isn’t in the titles—it’s in the way I use that knowledge behind the chair every day.
Whether I’m shaping a strong silhouette with a razor, softening a color to mimic sun-faded tones, or tailoring a blowout to bring out natural movement, it’s always about enhancing what’s already there. My specialties include shear and razor cutting, natural-looking hair color, long-lasting hair designs, and consultations that feel like conversations.
Moments That Matter
I’ve been honored with awards like “Best of Winchester – Best Hairstylist Individual” (2012–2015) and “Boston’s Best Men’s Haircut” by Improper Bostonian Magazine (2003). I’ve even shared a few tips on beach hair styling with Julie Auclair on Channel 7 News. But it’s not the spotlight moments that stay with me—it’s the trust. The client who returns year after year. The teen who grows into a confident adult in my chair. The joy of helping someone see themselves clearly for the first time
The Life That Grounds It All
When I’m not behind the chair, I’m home with my partner—my best friend since high school—our daughter, and our crew of pets. We fill our days with belly laughs, good food, and slow summer pool days. Every fall, we escape to the White Mountains to reset. These moments keep me grounded, inspired, and deeply grateful.
That’s the energy I bring into the salon: thoughtful, present, and personal. You’re not just another appointment here. You’re part of something intentionally crafted, from the first consultation to the final touch.
So if you’re looking for a hair experience that’s built around you—your lifestyle, your look, your story—you’re in the right place.
Welcome to The Hair Mansion. Let’s create something unforgettable.
